Kebe & Gramlich receive endorsements from former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg

On Thursday, Aug. 13, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Mayor of South Bend Pete Buttigieg, along with his Win the Era Action Fund, issued two endorsements in state-level races. Founded by Secretary Buttigieg in March 2020, Win the Era focuses on electing the next generation of leaders to build a sustainable pipeline for the Democratic Party.

State Treasurer candidate Coumba Kebe

Buttigieg officially endorsed Coumba Kebe for Indiana State Treasurer. In his statement of support, he cited Kebe’s character, problem-solving skills, and leadership as reasons for his endorsement.

“Coumba has built her career helping organizations solve complex problems and better serve the people who depend on them,” Buttigieg said. “She understands that good stewardship is about more than balancing the books – it’s about earning the public’s trust and making government work better for everyone.”

Kebe, a healthcare executive and community advocate, has campaigned on a platform of restructuring state investments to lower borrowing costs for local communities, supporting affordable housing initiatives, and bringing accountability to state reserve management.

“Pete Buttigieg has dedicated his career to building stronger communities and proving that government can deliver tangible results for everyday people,” Kebe said. “He started that journey right here in Indiana and that’s why I am so honored to have his support. Together, we are building a campaign focused on ensuring Hoosiers and our communities feel the benefit of the investment of their taxpayer dollars.”

House District 39 candidate Lindsay Gramlich

Buttigieg officially endorsed Lindsay Gramlich in her campaign for Indiana House District 39, along with a slate of other candidates running to flip Republican-controlled offices in Indiana.

Gramlich has been a longtime community advocate and brings with her over 16 years of experience in leadership and philanthropy in Central Indiana. Currently, she serves as the President and CEO of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, a nonprofit leadership organization dedicated to helping girls realize their full potential, and has also worked in various capacities at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Gramlich holds a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University and a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University.

“Having Secretary Buttigieg’s support means the world to me, and is a big milestone for this campaign,” Gramlich said. “I’m honored to have his endorsement, and looking forward to partnering with him and Win the Era Action Fund to flip this incredibly competitive seat and break the long-held Republican supermajority.”

Gramlich is a 2026 recipient of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s prestigious “Forty Under 40” award, which recognizes young professionals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and achievements in their careers, and was voted one of Indy’s Most Pivotal Leaders in 2022. She is also a graduate of several notable leadership fellowships in Central Indiana and has served on various boards in Central Indiana.

“National organizations and leaders are zooming in on Indiana and the potential for Democrats to make inroads here,” Gramlich said. “I’m ready to be a part of that and bring back balance to the Indiana Statehouse so we can focus on the issues that matter most to Hoosiers.”
