K9 Scout retires after eight years

K9 Scout of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department retired on Monday after eight years of faithful service to the citizens of Hamilton County.

Since entering active service in July 2010, Scout and handler Deputy Hoard answered approximately 363 calls for K9 service resulting in 33 finds of criminals, missing persons, and mental health and suicidal subjects.

Scout and Deputy Hoard also affected thousands of lives through 149 K9 demonstrations conducted over the years.
