Joseph Lee Bowser

June 17, 1936 – August 28, 2023

Joseph Lee Bowser, 87, passed away on August 28, 2023, in hospice near his home in Florida. He was born on June 17, 1936, in Cicero, where he remained until 2020 when he relocated to Ft. Myers, Florida with his daughter, Michelle.

He spent his younger years working on his family farm in Cicero. In 1954, Joseph graduated from Jackson Central High School in Cicero. He joined the Army in 1957 then spent several years after that in the National Guard. He married the Love of his life, Alice Crim, on May 30, 1965, and together they raised three daughters whom he loved more than life.

Joseph worked for General Motors (Delco Remy; Anderson, Ind.) from 1965 to 1998 and was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Noblesville. He also volunteered at Senior Services in Noblesville for many years after retirement. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, church activities, bowling, bingo, and watching football and basketball in person or on TV. He was the #1 sports fan for Hamilton Heights High School in the ‘80s and ‘90s!

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Wilma Bowser; his wife, Alice; his son, Tony; and his brother, Jay.

He is survived by his three daughters, Christy Bowser of Indianapolis, Heather Bowser of St. Louis, Mo., and Michelle King (Michael) of Ft. Myers, Fla.; John Bowser of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Blake and Cheyanne of St. Louis, Mo., Max of Lubbock, Texas, and Evan of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren, Rylee of Lubbock, Texas, and Milo & Lucas of St. Louis, Mo.

The family plans to hold a private Memorial Service at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville at a later date.
