Joanne Robertson Stark

March 19, 1936 – November 15, 2023

Joanne Robertson Stark, 87, Cicero, passed away on November 15, 2023, after a short illness.

She was born on March 19, 1936, to Dan and Dollie Robertson in St. Louis, Mo. Early in her life she used to love to play sports and was an accomplished pianist. After graduating from Brentwood High School in 1954, she began dating Harold (Bud) Stark, Jr. and was married to him in November 1956. She and Bud were married 67 years.

For their first few years of marriage, Joanne worked to help support the two of them and put Bud through college. In 1959, they welcomed their first daughter, Debby, and then Scott in 1962, Kathy in 1964, and in 1969 welcomed Steve into their family. Once their children were old enough, Joanne started working for Avon and was a Regional Manager in Kokomo for 10 years. The main reason for working at Avon was to be able to take her whole family on Ambassadair Vacation trips. After the children grew up, they added grandchildren, Lyndsay (Aaron) Link, Erin (Chad) Hunt, Casy (Ryan) Flatley, KC Foster, Megan (Brandon) Foutz, Michael (Katie) Stark, and Brittany Stark, as well as great-grandchildren Gracie, Claire, Vaughn, Ava, Breah, Owen, and Remy.

She couldn’t do enough for her family. Once a month she would have a birthday party for that month’s worth of birthdays. She loved cooking and planning birthdays and holidays.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; both her parents; her sister, Susie Robertson; brother-in-law, Joe (Shorty) Stark; and son-in-law, Dave Arens. She is survived by Debby Stark, Scott (Kaye) Stark, Kathy Arens, Steve (Bambi) Stark, her sister-in-law, Barbie Stark, as well as Barbie’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Joanne and Bud were members of Noblesville First Presbyterian Church, 1207 Conner St., Noblesville. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon and funeral service at noon. Refreshments and further gathering time available after service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the church.
