Jennie R. Zawada, 109, Carmel, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Magnolia Springs Senior Living at Bridgewater in Carmel. She was born on January 9, 1912 to Peter and Katherine (Marziarz) Piotrowski in Milwaukee, Wis.
Jennie was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in New Port Richey in Florida. She married Stanley in 1942. Jennie moved to the Tampa area in 1965 and to Indiana in 2017. She enjoyed working in her yard, keeping an immaculate house, cooking, and exercising. Jennie was very active well into her 100’s, and was still driving and push mowing her yard until 103 years old.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Nancy (David) Dwyer, Donald (Eldith) Peters, Norbert (Bonnie) Piotrowski, Kathleen Becker, Joann DesMarais, and Betty Lou Fox.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Zawada; brothers, Peter Piotrowski, Burney Peters, Alois Piotrowski, Francis Lowsinski, and Ervin Piotrowski.
Services will be held at a later date in Florida. Jennie’s family has entrusted Randall & Roberts Funeral Home with her care.

She was a great Aunt to me, and sister to my dad, Alois Piotrowski. I have many fond memories of her throughout my life. She lived an exceptional long productive life. I will miss her presence.

Dear Nancy, David, Don, Norb, Bonnie, JoAnn, Kathy, and Betty, our deepest condolences on the loss of your Aunt Jennie. It certainly was expected, but she was more than just a great woman, she was a family icon. She led a wonderful life. In the end, her quality of life was dependent on all of you, and you came through with your love, caring and hard work. Throughout Aunt Jennie’s last years, Kathi and I have been very impressed by the efforts that you have made to keep Aunt Jennie in your minds and hearts. I am sure that your acts of love and kindness will be rewarded in the afterlife.
