December 26, 1942 – April 19, 2022
James Leland Johnson, 79, Fishers, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on December 26, 1942, to Stanley and Lorene (Shelton) Johnson in Henderson, Ky.
James held four things above all others in his lifetime: Family, Ford, drag racing, and his love of the Lord. He was a devout Christian and prayed that everyone he knew and loved would follow his faithfulness. James worked for Ford Motor Company for 47 years as a machine repairman. He was so proud of being a Ford man. He used to say, “Cut me, I bleed Ford blue.” James knew so much about drag racing and passed that information and knowledge to anyone who wanted to learn. He was proud of his family and relished time he spent with them.
James is survived by his loving wife, Sara Johnson; and his children, Jay L Johnson, Janet Weiser and Jennie Franklin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley Wright Johnson Jr. and Willie Bob Johnson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services at 1 p.m., on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Daris Reynolds Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
