James Kuszewski

August 10, 1936 – September 4, 2017

James Kuszewski, 81, Carmel passed away September 4, 2017. He was born on August 10, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wis. to Joseph and Anna Trawicki Kuszewski. Jim attended St. John Cathedral High School. He earned his undergraduate degree at Marquette University and PhD at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, both in organic chemistry. While an undergraduate, he was the recipient of the Konrad Adenauer scholarship, established by then-Chancellor of West Germany.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Kuszewski in 2008.

Survivors include his second wife, Mary Fisher; children, John (Diane) Kuszewski, Judy (Ian) Welsh and Bob (Laurel) Kuszewski; six grandchildren and a brother, Joseph Kuszewski.

Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with the Mass of Christian Burial at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the Marie and James Kuszewski Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1687, Lafayette, IN 47902.
