James (Jim) K. Mathena, 68, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at home. He was born on January 10, 1957, to Jack and Ann Mathena.
Jim retired in 2022 after a successful career as a computer programmer. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Purdue University. He loved spending quality time with his grandchildren who always made him smile. He was a sports car enthusiast who loved to restore classic Corvettes. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially football and baseball.
He is survived by his daughters, Alecia Stout and Christyn Dillinger; his cherished grandchildren, Blaine Bailey, Paige Bailey, Lucas Stout, and Cole Stout; his mother, Ann Mathena; and his brother, Richard Meredith.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack; sister, Debbie; and sister, Cindy.
Jim was known for his kindness, dedication to his family, and warm spirit. His personality and humor lit up a room. He found joy in the love of his family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held in the Spring to honor his life.
