James Evert Spelbring I, 87, Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital in Carmel. He was born on April 18, 1936, to Elmer and Martha (Stewart) Spelbring in Westfield.
James proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a Westfield Fire Fighter for over 20 years. James enjoyed fishing, bowling, and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Spelbring; son, Jim (Debbie) Spelbring; daughter, Jana (Russell) Smith; grandchildren, James Paul (Kari) Spelbring, Alicia (Zach) Penrod, Brandon Spelbring, Klark (Lauren) Culp, Jessie (Zach) Watters, Greg (Abby) Hart, and Jessie (Kurt) Magoteaux; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jerry Spelbring.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the funeral home, with Pastor Doug Kizer officiating. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.
