The Indianapolis AlleyCats got their 2024 AUDL season underway last Saturday by beating the Detroit Mechanix 25-16 at Grand Park Events Center.

The AlleyCats never trailed in the game, outscoring the Mechanix in each of the four quarters. Cameron Brock led the scoring for Indianapolis with four goals, while Levi Jacobs and Seth Gudeman both had three goals. Xavier Payne dished out four assists, with Jeremiah Branson and Rick Gross both handing out three assists. Payne, William Wettengel, Nick Hutton and Gudeman all had two blocks.

Second-year AlleyCats coach Drew Shepard said his team needed to “kick the rust off, come out here and kick some butt. By the end of the game, we were doing that, so I’m pleased.”
