Indiana State Police warn of email extortion scam

Indiana State Police Detectives have recently received an increase in reports of a common email extortion scam.

Each of these scam attempts include similar tactics and target a victim by including the person’s name, address, and sometimes a photograph of their home. In the email, the scammer claims to have installed Pegasus spyware on the victim’s phone and attempts to extort money from them.
