Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association announces post-season awards

The Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association has released some of its post-season awards for the 2023 season.

First is the All-State Academic Team. Five Hamilton County schools received that award: Carmel, Fishers, Guerin Catholic, Noblesville and Westfield. The IHSTeCA also named the following players to the Individual Academic All-State team: Carmel’s Jonathan Yang and Braedon McIntyre, Guerin Catholic’s Alejandro Torres, Hamilton Southeastern’s Amay Kulkarni, Noblesville’s Rory Bushong and Liam Shepard, University’s Owen Schellhase and Westfield’s Jack Dietz and Gavin Dietz.

Several players were named to the All-District 6 team. Singles honors went to Carmel’s Yang, Rocky Li and Wesley Worobel, Fishers’ Aidan Foley, Guerin Catholic’s Max Fuller and Charlie Phillips, University’s Schellhase and Westfield’s Alex Sagarra and Parker Paramoure. County doubles teams earning All-District awards were Carmel’s Michael Bao/McIntyre and Grant Mu/David Liu, Fishers’ Thomas Bender/Jack Butler, Guerin Catholic’s Torres/Rhys Garrison and Westfield’s Jack Dietz/Gavin Dietz.

Carmel coach Dan Brunette was named the District 6 Coach of the Year.

The IHSTeCA will announce All-State players at a later date.
