Sheridan Elementary School (SES) recently held a heartwarming event called “Doughnuts with Grown-Ups,” giving students and their families a chance to come together and share a special morning.

Sheridan Elementary PTO sponsored the event for Kindergarten, second-, and fourth-graders and their favorite grownups. The event provided an opportunity for grown-ups – whether parents, guardians, or other family members – to visit the school, enjoy a sugary breakfast, and spend quality time with the students.

Families gathered in the school’s cafeteria, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter and smiles. The students proudly showed their grown-ups around. For many, it was a chance to experience firsthand the environment where their children spend their days, fostering a stronger connection between home and school.

A special shoutout goes to Allison Waitt’s graphic design class for creating the amazing graphics for the event.

The event was a wonderful reminder of the importance of family involvement in a child’s education, and the doughnuts were a sweet touch to an already special morning.

“Doughnuts with Grown-Ups has fast become a family favorite, as our fantastic PTO now hosts one each semester!” SES Principal Valerie Roberts said. “This allows all our K-5 families to visit our school and enjoy a special morning at school!”

Doughnuts with Grown-Ups has been more than just a chance to indulge in a tasty treat – it is a meaningful opportunity to build relationships and make memories that will last.
