Huskies win Senior Night game

Hamilton Heights won its Senior Night game on Thursday, overwhelming Hoosier Conference opponent Lewis Cass 61-18.
The Huskies dominated in each quarter, leading 17-6 after the first quarter and 38-10 at halftime. Heights didn’t let up in the second half, outscoring the Kings 12-0 in the third period.
Bayleigh Runner scored 19 points, including four 3-pointers, and collected six rebounds, with MyKayla Moran adding 10 points. Moran also had four blocked shots, with Sydney Runyan making three blocks. Runner had one block, for a team total of eight.
Just as impressive were the 27 team steals for the Huskies. Runner picked up nine steals, with Kaylee Rhoton and Chloe Henderson both making five. Payton Dissett handed out five assists.
“Great night for our seniors,” said Heights coach Keegan Cherry. “These games are always difficult under the circumstances, but I was proud that we were able to take care of business. Each of our seniors is special and we really appreciate everything they have given to our program.”
The win over Cass was the first Hoosier Conference East Division victory for the Huskies this season, giving them a 1-1 record. Heights is 9-9 overall and plays at Westfield on Saturday afternoon.
