Huskies take care of Tipton

The last 10 meetings in the rivalry between Tipton and Hamilton Heights have been split with each winning five.

The Huskies defended their home court Friday, Jan. 30 with a 62-44 win over the Blue Devils.

From the tipoff, Heights was in control and led 18-6 through the first eight minutes.

They doubled up the Blue Devils at halftime 35-17 with a 17-11 second.

The second half would be a 27-27 tie, but still wound up as an 18-point win for the Huskies.

The win was their seventh in a row in the first game of a back-to-back weekend.

Jackson Mikesell led Heights with a double-double, scoring 16 and grabbing 13 rebounds. Rees Knapp had 14 with seven boards and Jack Kakasuleff 13. Will DeStefano had eight points and dished out five assists.
