Hamilton Heights split its first two games at the Haag Ford East Central Holiday Tournament on Friday.
The Huskies lost their first game to the host Trojans, 49-41. East Central led 17-14 after the first quarter and 26-21 at halftime.
Jillian Osswald scored 18 points for Heights, including three 3-pointers, and also handed out four assists. MyKayla Moran collected nine rebounds, with Bayleigh Runner pulling five.
The Huskies rebounded to beat Seymour 58-45 in their second game. The contest was close for the first three quarters, with Heights leading 32-30 at halftime and 44-39 after three quarters. The Huskies pulled away in the fourth period, outscoring the Owls 14-6.
Osswald was again the scoring leader, pouring in 23 points and making four 3-pointers. Runner added 13 points, and also had six rebounds and five assists. Moran led the rebounding with seven, while Payton Dissett dished out four assists.
The Huskies, now 6-7 for the season, play Shelbyville at 9 a.m. today in their final pool game of the tournament. Heights will play a placement game later this afternoon.
