Huskies sail past No. 8 Twin Lakes

Hamilton Heights scored a tremendous win Saturday afternoon, blasting past Twin Lakes 67-37 in a home game.
The Huskies outscored the Class 3A No. 8 Indians in each of the four quarters, starting with a solid defensive first period. Heights led 14-5 after one, then poured in 23 points in the second quarter for a 37-19 halftime lead. Mia Shields scored 10 points during that period; Shields, Camryn Runner and Kaylee Rhoton all hit two 3-pointers in the quarter.
The Huskies led 51-31 after three quarters, then ran away in the fourth quarter by outscoring Twin Lakes 16-6.
“On a short prep, our girls were mentally outstanding,” said Heights coach Keegan Cherry. “Defensively we were locked in. Twin Lakes has shown they can score at a high level. Credit to our girls for recognizing personnel and limiting or making it really difficult for their primary scoring threats to get going.”
The Huskies are 5-3 and play their first Hoosier Conference East Division game of the season Tuesday at Northwestern.
