Huskies jump ahead early, keep ahead of New Castle to win

Hamilton Heights picked up a win at New Castle on Friday, by the score of 74-66.

The Huskies sprinted out in front to a 22-14 lead after one quarter. Heights extended that advantage to 38-28 by halftime and stayed ahead for the entire second half. A 20-point third quarter kept the Huskies up 58-49 going into the fourth.

Tyler Champion poured in 26 points, draining three 3-pointers. Gavin Saunders totaled 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Rees Knapp scored 11 points and collected six rebounds. Drew Duncan also had six rebounds.

Heights is 2-1 and hosts Guerin Catholic tonight.
