The Hamilton Heights swim team competed in two meets over the past few days.
On Saturday, the Huskies split a dual with Northwestern. The boys team won 94-86. Eli VanHaaren won the 200 and 100 freestyles, while Owen VanHaaren was first in the 50 free. Nathan Cox won diving. Gabe Roosa was first in the backstroke and joined Blake Blackhurst, Cole Martin and Noah Shlater to win the 200 free relay. Eli VanHaaren, Grant Forrer, Shlater and Owen VanHaaren sealed the meet by winning the 400 free relay.
“Every boy on the team contributed to the victory and should be proud,” said Heights coach Jenni Clarke.
The Huskies girls team lost 102-80. Jane Pache, Teegan Madara, Kennedy Weaver and Mady Hutcherson started the meet with a victory in the medley relay. Madara also won the 50 free and breaststroke, while Campbell Lively-Mason was first in diving.
On Tuesday, the Huskies were swept by Western. The girls fell 100-80, winning two events: Maosn-Lively took the diving and Madara was first in the butterfly. Sarah Toll placed second in the butterfly with a lifetime best time of 1:16.62.
In the boys meet, Heights lost 118-67. Owen VanHaaren won the individual medley.

The Huskies will compete in the Hoosier Conference meet later this week at West Lafayette. The diving takes place Thursday and the swimming events are set for Saturday.
