December 31, 1942 – June 17, 2018
Howard C. Campbell, 75, Noblesville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Riverview Health. He was born on December 31, 1942 to Thomas and Ethel (Beam) Campbell in Easton, Pa.
Upon graduating from Wilson High School, Howard proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his time in the service, he retired after 41 years as the Assistant Superintendent of Public Works for the Palmer Township, Pa. Road Department. He also volunteered as a fireman for over 20 years for Palmer Township. After moving to Noblesville, Howard volunteered for the last 10 years at White River Christian Church food pantry. He enjoyed gardening, working with his hands and being an Uber driver for his grandchildren. Howard was a humble and selfless man who loved helping people and never knew the word “no.” He had a great smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and loved life and his family.
Howard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dawn E. Campbell; son, Ed Campbell (fiancée, Renee); daughter, Heidi Litsey (husband, Bill); five grandchildren, Evan, Taylor, Marissa, Makayla and Billy; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Annabelle; five step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Campbell, Donald Campbell, Bill Campbell, Alice Campbell, James Campbell, Frank Campbell and Gloria Koehler; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his sister, Lenora Graver.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at White River Christian Church, 1685 N. 10th St. in Noblesville, with visitation from 4 p.m. to the time of service. Pastor Fred Knoll will officiate.
