Carmel traveled to Moline, Ill. on Saturday to participate in the Kevin Brown Tournament of Champions.
The Greyhounds fell to Moline 63-54. Carmel led 20-15 after the first quarter, but Moline came back to tie it up at halftime, 32-32. Moline then outscored the ‘Hounds 15-8 in the third quarter, and held on in the fourth.
Alex Couto had an outstanding shooting performance, making all five of his 3-point attempts. Couto finished with 17 points to lead Carmel. Jared Bonds added 14 points, and Spencer White went 3-of-3 from 3-point range. Sam Orme led the rebounds with six and White dished out four assists.
The Greyhounds are 1-1 and host Lawrence Central on Friday.
