Carmel dropped a Saturday afternoon game to Homestead 48-37 at the Sneakers for Santa tournament at Brownsburg High School.
The Class 4A No. 5 Spartans steadily built their lead over the 4A No. 4 Greyhounds, going up 9-7 after the first quarter and 19-16 at halftime. Homestead then held a 31-23 advantage after three periods.
Pete Suder scored 13 points for Carmel, with Josh Whack adding nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Sam Orme had five rebounds.
The Greyhounds are 2-2 and play their home opener Friday, hosting Noblesville.
