A Hoosier dairy farm welcomed Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, representatives from the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA), and State Rep. Jeff Thompson for a farm tour on Tuesday.
Freshly Dairy, which is located between Jamestown and Lizton in Hendricks County, had the opportunity to talk with Lt. Gov. Crouch, ISDA, and State Rep. Thompson about how the business was just started in 2022. Owner Zack Ireland was also able to discuss impacts of farm policy on Hoosier producers.
The tour was part of the Indiana Grown initiative, a program that highlights Hoosier farmers that produce locally grown products throughout the state of Indiana. This program was created by ISDA to help promote products grown by Hoosiers, for Hoosiers.
Because of this program, Freshly Dairy was able to connect with representatives from the state government to share their story and how they are helping produce sustainable dairy products.
Freshly dairy sells fresh bottled milk and cheese curds in 22 different locations across central Indiana, including on the farm. Pick up times on the farm are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

About Indiana Grown
The Indiana State Department of Agriculture’s Indiana Grown initiative was created to promote products that are grown or made by Hoosiers, for Hoosiers! From fresh food grown from our soil to artisan goods crafted with care, we’re here to help you discover what Indiana has to offer. By allowing members to use the Indiana Grown logo on their products, the initiative aims to form a clearer designation of which products truly come from Indiana.
