Holidays in Carmel: where there’s something for everyone!

The holiday season has arrived in the City of Carmel as multiple local traditions are launched. Experience the holidays as they look in the movies with a visit to the Carmel Christkindlmarkt, a walk down the Magnificent Monon and an ice skating date at The Ice at Carter Green.

Find the perfect gifts for loved ones in local shops in the Carmel Arts & Design District along Main Street, in Midtown and at City Center. Prepare to visit with Santa during his tour through Carmel neighborhoods. Ride the Holiday Trolley from Main Street to Carter Green and around the central districts.

Carmel Christkindlmarkt 

Nov. 18 to Dec. 24
Wednesdays and Thursdays 4 to 9 p.m.
Fridays and Saturdays noon to 9 p.m.
Sundays noon to 8 p.m.
Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day

The Ice at Carter Green

Open Nov. 18 to Feb. 29
Hours during Christkindlmarkt are:
Wednesdays and Thursdays 4 to 9 p.m.
Fridays and Saturdays 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sundays 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Closes at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Hours vary Dec. 26 to Feb. 29.

Holiday Trolley

Nov. 24 & 25 and Dec. 1 & 2, 8 & 9, 15 & 16, 22 & 23
Fridays 5 to 9 p.m.
Saturdays 2 to 9 p.m.

Ride the festive Carmel Holiday Trolley as you shop unique, local boutiques and galleries in the Arts & Design District, Indiana Design Center, Midtown Plaza, and City Center. Riders will receive free gifts and that warm glow that comes from knowing you have supported local merchants.

Shop Small, Shop Carmel

Saturday, Nov. 25
9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Shop Small is a global movement to support and celebrate small businesses. Participating businesses will have Shop Carmel swag bags to give away (while supplies last) along with a chance to win one of two $200 gift baskets, which will include items from select businesses. Santa Tours

Nov. 26 to Dec. 17
Sundays, Wednesdays & Fridays
Each tour time will be from 5 to 8 p.m.

Santa will make a return visit this season to Carmel neighborhoods with more tours and more opportunities to see the Jolly Old Elf and his friends from the Carmel Fire, Police and Street departments.

Magnificent Monon

Now through February

A beautiful outdoor walkway of seasonal lights and decorations from Carter Green to Main Street along the Magnificent Monon Greenway through the heart of the city.

Holiday in the Arts District

Saturday, Dec. 2
2 to 5 p.m.

Experience the wonder of the holidays in the Arts & Design District with elves and reindeer, carolers, trolley rides, a visit from Santa, special activities, and more surprises.

Holiday Porchfest

Saturday, Dec. 9
2 to 4 p.m.

Come out for holiday music, food, and drinks at this family-friendly event at Midtown Plaza.

Meet Me on Main

Saturday, Dec. 9
4 to 8 p.m.

Browse unique exhibits in each of the galleries and enjoy live entertainment, culture, and shopping in the Carmel Arts & Design District at the holiday edition of the Second Saturday Gallery Walk.

Pet Night with Santa

Tuesdays, Dec. 5 to 12
5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Bring your pet to visit with Santa and friends at Santa’s House located at 200 S. Range Line Road in the Indiana Design Center parking lot.
