Noblesville officials recently broke ground on Hobbs Station in Forest Park. The $1.5 million Noblesville Parks & Recreation project will reintegrate the 10-acre railyard back into Forest Park as a viable and attractive piece of the park. The project “activates” the space with landscaping and walking paths, restroom improvements, historic signs, and parking. It will also provide Nickel Plate Express a better place to operate at Forest Park and adds a covered platform for passengers to board. As part of the plan, Hobbs Station will remain the centerpiece of the railyard. It also will become a destination spot and draw visitors to downtown.
