Library cardholders can save at more than 40 local businesses this September as Hamilton East Public Library (HEPL) brings back its popular “Show Your Library Card and Save” campaign in celebration of Library Card Sign-Up Month.

From Sept. 1 to 30, HEPL cardholders can show their library card at participating businesses to receive special offers, discounts, free items with purchase and other promotions. The campaign gives residents another reason to keep an active library card while encouraging them to discover and support local businesses throughout the community.

Now in its third year, “Show Your Library Card and Save” has become a popular part of HEPL’s Library Card Sign-Up Month celebrations, connecting library cardholders with local businesses and giving participating businesses an opportunity to reach new and returning customers.

“We love that this campaign creates a benefit for everyone involved,” HEPL Director of Marketing and Communications Kelsey Sweet said. “Our cardholders get access to great deals, our local businesses get the opportunity to welcome new customers, and together we’re encouraging people to get out and explore all that our community has to offer. We’re incredibly grateful to the businesses that continue to participate and help make this campaign possible.”

A complete list of participating businesses and their September offers is available at hamiltoneastpl.org, with offers also highlighted throughout the month on the library’s social media channels, email newsletters, and through outreach.

What’s your next chapter?

While “Show Your Library Card and Save” gives cardholders an extra reason to use their library card this September, HEPL’s broader Library Card Sign-Up Month campaign celebrates everything a library card can unlock.

This year’s theme, “What’s Your Next Chapter?”, recognizes that there are different seasons of life and that the library has something for whatever comes next. Whether it’s discovering a new hobby, planning an adventure, finding a next favorite author, learning a new skill, or exploring something completely unexpected, a library card can help open the door.

Throughout September, HEPL will share reading and listening recommendations from staff and community members and invite patrons to share their own recommendations.

“Sometimes the best way to discover your next chapter is through a recommendation from someone else,” Sweet said. “This month is about encouraging people to explore, try something new and see where their library card can take them.”

How to get your library card

Residents who do not have an HEPL card can sign up at the Fishers or Noblesville library branch and begin taking advantage of everything the library has to offer, including the “Show Your Library Card and Save” deals available throughout September.

Adults who live in Delaware, Fall Creek, Noblesville, or Wayne townships can also apply for a digital library card through HEPL’s online application.
