To support repair efforts at The Gathering House following a recent fire, Faith Community Church and Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad will hold a special fundraising event aboard the Nickel Plate Express on Friday, March 27.
The event will bring the community together for an evening of food, trivia, and fundraising, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly toward repairs.
The event, Pizza, Puzzles, and a Bourbon Pull aboard the Nickel Plate Express, will take place during a two-hour sunset ride from 6 to 8 p.m. departing from Forest Park in Noblesville. The fundraiser will feature trivia, pizza, refreshments, a cash bar, a bourbon pull, and a dessert dash.
The Gathering House serves as a community space focused on connection, learning, and service. Organizers are working to raise $45,000 by April 15 to complete repairs and reopen the damaged space.
Nickel Plate Express made one of its available train cars accessible for the event as a way to support local recovery efforts. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the evening will go directly toward repair costs for The Gathering House.
“Nickel Plate Express was glad to be able to make a train car available for the evening and support this effort,” said Emily Reynolds, executive director of Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad. “It is a meaningful way to use an otherwise open car while helping Faith Community Church and The Gathering House raise support for an important community space.”
The March 27 event will include:
- A two-hour sunset ride aboard the Nickel Plate Express
- Team trivia for groups of four
- Pizza and refreshments included with each ticket
- A cash bar with custom cocktails and wine
- A bourbon pull featuring 24 premium bottles donated by Nickel Plate Express
- A dessert dash featuring donated gourmet desserts
