Helen Kutsko, 93, Fishers, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Riverview Health in Noblesville. She was born on September 13, 1929, to John and Mary (Vozar) Ply in Gary, Ind.
Helen is remembered for her love of sweets, her Slovak commands (čakaj – wait!), and her fierce independence. She loved dining at restaurants and is fondly remembered for her mob boss-like requests to sit in a booth that faced the rest of the room. Helen loved Italian food, national parks vacations with her husband Mark, visiting family out west, and tapping her feet to Latin music.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia (David) Christiansen, Alice Noppenberger, and James (Julie Norton) Kutsko; grandchildren, Matthew, Lesley, Paul, Stephen, Michael, and Caitlin; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark J. Kutsko; son-in-law, Tom Noppenberger; sisters, Mary and Anna; and twin brother, John.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
