Helen Beneville Grimes passed away on Monday July 6, 2026. She was born April 3, 1941, to Dr. and State Representative Walter and Juanita Beneville, Jeffersonville, Ind.
A graduate of Indiana University, she married Bob Grimes, a banker. They lived in Indianapolis, Chagrin Falls, Cincinnati, Billings, Mont., Highland Heights, Ky., and Noblesville. She was a substitute teacher, church organist, real estate agent, and a tax preparer before she retired. Through the years, she held offices in various book clubs wherever they lived: Alpha Phi Sorority, Episcopal Church Women, PTA, garden clubs, AAUW, KSO volunteer, and Lucy Albert Literary Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth. She is survived by her sons Robert (Brenda) of Noblesville and Michael of Abington, Pa.; her sister Judy Spencer, Greenwood, Ind.; her grandchildren, Jessica (Josh) Garrison of Noblesville and Carson (Gabriella) Grimes of Highland Heights, Ky,; her step-grandchildren, Allyn (Jeff) Miles of Arlington, Mass., and Claire (Michael) Ramamurthy of Doylestown, Pa.; and her great-grandchildren, Esmeralda, Catherine, Leah, Margaret, William, and Aurora.
A celebration of life will take place this fall.
