The Hamilton Heights softball team got back into action Thursday with a win over Anderson, 15-5 in six innings at the Huskies’ field.
Heights got on top right away, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Lily Roush started the inning with a double, then was sent home by Isabella Neiling’s double. Hayley Greene batted in Neiling with a center field hit, then Ashlyn Fletcher scored Greene. Alayna Baber’s center field single sent Fletcher home. Later, Kaylee Rhoton drew a walk, and Stephanie Spicer hit a right field single to score both Baber and Rhoton.
The Huskies scored in each of the six innings. Greene hit a home run to lead off the second inning, then sent Rhoton home with a third-inning sacrifice fly. Rhoton led off the inning with a double. Sydney Massicotte also hit a two-RBI single.
Rhoton batted in a fourth-inning run, then Fletcher hit an RBI single in the fifth inning, followed by a sacrifice fly by Kelsie Albright. Massicotte finished the scoring with an RBI-double in the sixth, giving her two doubles for the game.
Greene and Massicotte both went 3-for-3 at the plate, with Greene totaling three RBIs. Albright pitched a complete game, striking out eight.
Heights is 1-3 for the season and is scheduled to host Kokomo on Saturday.
