‘Hawks fall in overtime

Sheridan dropped an overtime Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Carroll Friday night, 44-42.
The Blackhawks led 7-6 after the first quarter, then jumped ahead 19-12 by halftime. Sheridan led 27-19 after three periods, but the Cougars came back to tie the game at 34-34 by the end of regulation, then outscored the ‘Hawks 10-8 in the overtime.
Nick Burnell led Sheridan with 13 points and also collected seven rebounds. Jesse Kolb and Nick Roberts both added seven points, with Kolb grabbing five rebounds.
The Blackhawks are 8-8 and host Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
