December 31, 1944 – December 5, 2022
Harold Walter Ambrose, aka Butch, 77, Westfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022. Butch was born on December 31, 1944, to Margaret Carrie and Harold William Ambrose. He was one of five children, two sisters and two brothers.
Butch worked in the automobile business his entire adult life. He could be found working on cars both at home and at work. Butch loved working in the auto business. We mentioned retirement to him a few times and he was not ready to leave the business or his friends and co-workers at Auto King Automotive where he was co-owner for the past 17 years.
Butch’s passion for many years were his horses. Horseback riding on the weekends and camping with family and friends on horse riding trips were the times he looked most forward to.
His other passion in his life was his family. Butch loved unconditionally and he loved hard. He always let you know how special and loved you were.
There are many in Heaven saving a place for Butch: his parents, both of his sisters, along with so many great friends including his best friend, Larry Moore, who probably has the horses saddled and ready to ride.
Butch leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 45 years, Darlene Ambrose; his daughter, Margaret Lips, and her two daughters, Macy and Kaile Lips; his stepson, Lee Lawless, and his two boys, Daniel and David Lawless; his stepdaughter, Charmaine Lawless; and his two brothers, Rick and Howard Ambrose, as well as their wives, Carolyn and Becky, and their children.
There are many left behind who will feel this great loss and cherish the memories they have of him. Butch would want all of us to continue to live our best lives and to cherish each day.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oral Cancer Foundation, 3419 Via Lido #205, Newport Beach, CA 92663 (oralcancerfoundation.org).
