During a work session of the Hamilton Southeastern Board of School Trustees on Wednesday, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Matt Kegley shared an academic update celebrating significant progress in student achievement and outlining continued investments to support learning across the district.
Recent results highlight strong gains in early literacy, math, and college readiness. HSE students achieved a 96 percent passing rate on IREAD-3, the highest districtwide performance in five years. ILEARN scores continue to trend upward with notable growth across nearly every grade level and student demographic group. Both high schools also recorded their highest Advanced Placement passing rates in five years, and SAT performance remains among the strongest in the state.

“This success is the result of the incredible work happening every day in our classrooms,” Superintendent Pat Mapes said. “Our teachers and students continue to rise to the challenge, and we remain committed to providing the resources, tools, and opportunities needed for every learner to thrive.”
Looking ahead, all schools will update their School Improvement Plans to highlight areas of growth and identify opportunities for continued improvement. The district will also continue using data to guide instruction and provide teachers with ongoing support to help every student succeed.
