The Hamilton Heights Youth Assistance Program (HHYAP) and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers (SRO) teamed up once again to host the fourth annual mini camp at Hamilton Heights Elementary School in Arcadia.

This three-day interactive camp welcomed nearly 30 students entering grades 4 through 8, offering them a unique and exciting way to kick off their summer.

Guest presenters included representatives from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the Hamilton County SWAT team, Jim Ginder, Health Education Specialist at the Hamilton County Health Department, and Emily Beechler, Secondary Instructional Coach at Hamilton Heights. These presenters captivated and inspired students through demonstrations, presentations, interactive activities, services, and games designed to educate and engage.

“The camp provided a meaningful opportunity for Heights’ SROs and YAP staff to connect with students, build relationships, and enjoy time together while learning more about the emergency and law enforcement services that support their school and community,” Mary Ann Haymaker said. “We look forward to this event every year!”
