The Hamilton East Public Library issued the following statement on Friday afternoon regarding Thursday evening’s board meeting.
“A member of the public attending the Hamilton East Public Library Board meeting last evening exhibited language and behavior toward an individual Board member, the full Board, and a police officer that was completely unacceptable.
“Both police officers present intervened, and the individual was removed from the meeting and the library.
“While the Library Board values the opinions of the public, civility and decorum must be maintained. The library has policies in place that prohibit this type of behavior to protect the interests and safety of all patrons, staff, and Library Board members. Such behavior will not be tolerated, and a police report on the matter has been filed.”
