Saturday, May 10 was a perfect day for the 33rd year of Stamp Out Hunger.

Volunteers across the county gathered at post offices and collected food picked by the postal carriers left by mailboxes on their routes. During this annual food drive, Hamilton County residents donated 62,232 pounds of food. This is an increase from last year’s total of 51,968 pounds – nearly a 20 percent increase.

All of the food donated is distributed to food pantries here in Hamilton County. With the increase in the cost of food, this much-needed food drive helps stock the shelves at local pantries with summer approaching.

Thank you to all the volunteers who folded bags, stapled postcards, and helped collect the donated food. Thank you to the postal workers who filled their postal trucks up with bags filled with donated food.
