The Hamilton County Republican Party has selected Josh Kocher to fill the vacancy for Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney. The caucus met Monday evening, Dec. 29 at the Hamilton County Government and Judicial Center in Noblesville.

Kocher has served Hamilton County as a prosecutor since 2006 and most recently held the role of Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney under Greg Garrison. Garrison retired last month due to health concerns.

Kocher brings nearly two decades of experience handling complex criminal cases and leading day-to-day operations within the Prosecutor’s Office.

“I’m incredibly honored by the trust placed in me by the precinct committeemen,” Kocher said. “Greg has been a mentor, a friend, and a role model and I’m excited to continue his work on behalf of the people of Hamilton County.”

Kocher was formally sworn in Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 30 in the courtroom of the historic courthouse in Noblesville.
