Hamilton County Democrats celebrate their emerging leaders

The Hamilton County Democratic Party celebrates three Hamilton County residents who have been selected for the prestigious Emerging Leaders Project (ELP): Nocona Canady-Flatt of Noblesville, Jay Dunne of Westfield, and Fran Smith of Fishers.

Founded in 2011, the Emerging Leaders Project is an independent nonprofit organization operated by volunteers and aligned with the Indiana Democratic Party. Its mission is to “Build the Bench” of future Democratic candidates, party leaders, campaign staffers, and activists across Indiana. Through free, hands-on training in campaign management, public policy, and party building, participants gain the tools and connections needed to serve their communities and strengthen Democratic values.

“We are thrilled to see three of our own Hamilton County Democrats chosen for this program,” Hamilton County Democratic Party Chair Josh Lowry said. “Nocona, Jay, and Fran represent the next generation of leaders who will continue the work of building a stronger, fairer Indiana. Their commitment to public service and community engagement is exactly what the Emerging Leaders Project is designed to cultivate.”

ELP has a proven track record of developing Hoosier Democrats who go on to serve in elected office, manage campaigns, and lead in their communities. The inclusion of Canady-Flatt, Dunne, and Smith underscores the growing momentum of Democratic leadership in Hamilton County.

The Hamilton County Democratic Party congratulates these three outstanding individuals and looks forward to supporting their leadership journey in the years to come.
