Guerin Catholic beats Heights in all-county game

Guerin Catholic won an all-county game at Hamilton Heights Saturday 67-32.

The Golden Eagles led 12-10 after the first quarter, but zoomed through the second period by outscoring the Huskies 18-2, taking a 30-12 lead into the locker room at halftime. Guerin Catholic then jumped ahead 53-23 after three quarters.

Bryson Cardinal had a dominant game with 30 points and 13 rebounds, his second double-double of the week. Jake Grissom added 11 points, with Ryne Paris and Jack Toles each scoring nine. Paris also pulled five rebounds.

Gavin Saunders scored 11 points for the Huskies, followed by Jack Kakasuleff with eight points.

The Golden Eagles are 4-0 and play at Westfield Friday, while Heights is 2-2 and hosts Logansport Friday in a Hoosier Conference East Division game. Both teams will participate in the Muncie Fieldhouse Classic on Saturday: the Huskies take on host Muncie Central at 6 p.m., followed by Guerin Catholic playing Yorktown at 8 p.m.
