Gov. Mike Braun on Thursday said he probably will fully dismantle and replace the Indiana Economic Development Corporation board.

The board governs the IEDC’s activities. It consists of eight members, plus Braun, Indiana Secretary of Commerce David Adams, and IEDC Executive Director Jeff Blade.

During a Thursday afternoon news conference, Braun said he expects he will replace all of the board members.

“I think that board had gotten to be maybe not as active as it should have been and I’ve got a lot of people interested in it,” he said.

It would be the second time this month Braun has reshaped the board governing a key state entity. On June 2, he replaced three members of the IU Board of Trustees. During his campaign for governor, Braun said the IEDC’s activities needed to be reined in amid the controversy over the LEAP District, a planned high-tech research park near Lebanon.

Braun said he will have a full announcement on Monday.
