The Hamilton Southeastern and Fishers girls golf teams participated in the first Mudsock meet of the school year Tuesday at Stony Creek Golf Club.
The No. 5-ranked Royals won the meet, as well as the trophy, scoring 156 to the Tigers’ 171. It was a friendly competition, as both teams got together for a picture afterwards and were complimented for their sportsmanship.
Southeastern’s Marissa Spreitzer was the meet medalist with a score of 36. Lauren Stewart, Ella Bui, Makenna Watson and Annabelle Willard all scored 40s. Other HSE scores were Cora Zink 42, Reese Hissong 45 and Emily Vandall 51.
Lilly McVay led Fishers with a 38, while Kristi Lilek added a 40. Other Tigers scores were Olivia Holding 46, Megan Lapp 47, Kate Jansen 49, Hayleigh Hemminger 50, Lola Kivett 51 and Marissa Moore 53.
On Monday, the Royals won a dual meet against Yorktown at The Players Club, scoring 161 as a team.
Spreitzer was also the medalist with a 39. Zink and Bui both carded 40s, Stewart had a 42 and Yanah Ralston and Watson each had 43s.
A Tuesday four-team meet that included the two best teams in the state came down to a tiebreaker Tuesday at Prairie View.
No. 1 Westfield and No. 2 Carmel both finished with team scores of 158 at the meet. The Greyhounds were the winners by virtue of the fifth-woman score. No. 14 Zionsville carded a 186 and No. 8 Noblesville had a 193.
Carmel’s Michaela Headlee was the meet medalist with a 36, followed by Ava Hedrick 38, Sophie Mock 42, Kamryn Williams 42, Claire Swathwood 44 and Ava Nguyen 44.
Sophie McGinnis led the Shamrocks with a 38, while Sam Brown scored a 38. Other Westfield scores were Allie Hildebrand 40, Brette Hanavan 41, Addi Kooi 45 and Allie McKeown 57.
