Golf: Huskies stay perfect in duals

The Hamilton Heights boys golf team improved to 2-0 with a dual meet win over Western Boone Thursday at Bear Slide Golf Club.
The Huskies beat the Stars 177-197. Price Knowles and John Thuer paced Heights with a pair of 43s. Hudson Hochstedler carded a 44, while Garrett James rounded out the scoring with 47. Kyle Kirtley had 48 and Kyle Horton scored 49.

Noblesville won a dual meet with Pendleton Heights 149-178 Thursday at Fall Creek Golf Club.
Joe Whallon led the Millers with an even-par 35. Clay Merchent carded a 36, while Jacob Deakyne and Jaxon Stutz both had 39s. Chris Scheib scored 41.
“Joe played really well all day,” said Noblesville coach Gary Sewell. “It was very windy and the greens were small and very firm. It is not the easiest of golf courses if you are not used to playing there.”
The Millers will play Saturday at the Evansville Mater Dei Tournament at Victoria National golf Club in Evansville.

Westfield’s junior varsity team won a 159-167 meet with Guerin Catholic Thursday at Wood Wind Golf Club.
Freshman Joe Sawyer was the overall meet medalist with a 38. Freshman Nolan Hall and sophomore Hunter Cook each added 39s.
The JV Shamrocks will play at the Richmond Varsity Boys Invitational on Saturday.

Carmel’s junior varsity team beat Fishers 153-180 in a Thursday dual meet.
The Greyhounds’ Nick Katsis and Sam Booth were co-medalists with even-par 36s. Other Carmel scores were Shoji Fujita 40, Lukas Stitle 41, Owen Sander 41 and Gabe Perrin 42.
The Greyhounds will next play at the Center Grove Invitational Saturday at Hickory Bend Golf Course.
