There was time for one more big tournament featuring Hamilton County girls golf teams last Saturday.

Noblesville hosted the annual Courtney Cox Cole Invitational at Harbour Trees, and five other county teams were among the nine schools that participated. The tournament honors the memory of Cole, an all-time great Noblesville athlete and community leader who was a state champion for the Millers in golf and basketball.

Michaela Headlee was the meet medalist, with a two-under par 69.

“I think I played really solid,” said Headlee. “I hit a lot of greens and got a lot of two-putts from that. And when I did make mistakes, I came back from them.”

Claire Swathwood tied for second individually with a 76, followed by a 77 from Sophie Mock, 78 from Maddie Headlee and 79 from Kamryn Williams. Greyhounds coach Kelly Kluesner said it was a “great day for us.”
