Guerin Catholic scored a historic victory over Heritage Christian last Saturday, beating the Eagles 48-43 in a Circle City Conference game.
It was the first time the Golden Eagles have beaten Heritage in program history. Guerin Catholic jumped out to a 15-7 by the end of the first quarter. Ava Bills scored seven points in that period, and she was just getting started.
The Golden Eagles led 26-19 at halftime. Heritage Christian made a comeback in the third quarter, cutting GC’s lead to 34-31. Guerin Catholic held on in the fourth period, with Bills pouring in 11 points.
Bills scored a career-high 28 points, with points in every quarter. Annie Murphy added 10 points.
Guerin Catholic is 2-2 and plays at Lapel Tuesday, then hosts Cardinal Ritter on Saturday.
