Guerin Catholic opened its season with a 62-43 loss at Bloomington North on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles fell behind 16-9 after the first quarter, but worked their way back to within 28-24 by halftime. But the Cougars took control in the second half, outscoring GC 19-9 in the fourth period.
Sydney Geis made three 3-pointers on her way to 16 points for the Golden Eagles. Fiona Weber pulled eight rebounds, with Carly Wilson grabbing five.
Guerin Catholic plays its first home game of the season on Friday, taking on Jay County.
