June 15, 1931 – February 20, 2020
Gladys M. (Ely) Parks, 88, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 15, 1931 to Vernon Ray and Addie Pauline (Musick) Ely in Dryden, Lee County, Va.
Her greatest gift to those who knew her was her kind heart, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Her parting words were always, “I love you!”
Proverbs 31:10 says, “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” KJV. That was our Mother, Mamaw and Grammie!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John E. Parks; her parents; and her brothers, Robert and Don Ely.
She is survived by her children, Claretta (Curt), Alfred, Darrell (Evelyn), Velma and Dewey (Rhonda); grandchildren, Tonya, Michael John, Darrell Wayne, Stephanie and Justin; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Jonathan and Brantley; three sisters, Betty Humbert, Anna Mae Slemp and Joyce Mullins; brother, Gene Ely; sister-in-law, Cornie (Parks) Shepherd; and a host of family and friends too numerous to mention.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 and from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, with Rev. Alfred Parks officiating. Burial will be at Cicero Cemetery in Cicero.
A special thanks is extended to the doctors and nurses who assisted in her care.
