Girls track and field: Southeastern wins Royal Relays, Fishers takes 2nd

The Hamilton Southeastern girls track and field team won its own Royal Relays on Saturday.
Southeastern won by a solid margin, with its 129 points well ahead of runner-up Fishers. The Tigers scored 97 points, edging out Center Grove by one point for second place.
The Royals won two events, including one by a new meet record. That was the 400 shuttle hurdles, where the team of Makenzie Loftin, Mia Kemp, Elia Blackmore and Ally Elsbury finished in a time of 1 minute, 3.58 seconds, almost a third of a second below the old meet record. Maggie Powers won the 3200 run in 11:29.05.
Fishers got one event win, taking the 4×100 relay. The team of Genesis Bowers, Kya Hoskins, Maya Taylor and Ella Scally clocked in a 49.71 seconds.
