Girls golf: Carmel wins 3-way, ‘Rocks set new record

Carmel won a three-team girls golf meet with Hamilton Southeastern and Noblesville Thursday at Harbour Trees.
The No. 6-ranked Greyhounds scored 156, with the No. 7 Royals carding 160 and the Millers 181. Carmel’s Libby McGuire and HSE’s Dagny Gladwell shared medalist honors by posting 38s. Elizabeth Hedrick and Erin Evans of the ‘Hounds each scored 39s. Nina Hecht, Katie Kuc and Alex Waples all carded 40s.
Chelsea Morrow posted a 40 for the Royals, with Julia Eaton and Nicole Dillow both scoring 41s.
Brooke Gigante led Noblesville with a 42. Other Noblesville scores were Taylor Keating 43, Bella Deibel 47, Taylor Caldwell 49, Ellie Karst 51 and McKenzie Bennett 62.

Top-ranked Westfield set a new nine-hole record in its dual meet win over Ben Davis at South Grove Golf Course on Thursday.
The Shamrocks carded a 138 to the Giants’ 160. Cailyn Henderson finished the meet with a five-under par 30, making two eagles and a birdie along the way. Jocelyn Bruch also finished under par, with a one-under 34. Adrienne Montalone carded 36, with Emma Clary and Natalie Shupe both posting 38s. Margaret Wentz scored 41.

Hamilton Heights won a three-team match at The Commons Golf Course in Frankfort on Thursday.
The Huskies scored 213 to Frankfort’s 224 and Crawfordsville’s 231. Kate Biggs led Heights with a 48, followed by Ellie Arrowood 50, Alyx Harley 51 and Veronica Meredith 64.

In a junior varsity match, Westfield beat Guerin Catholic 179-224 Thursday at Pebble Brook.
The Shamrocks’ Megan Barker was the medalist with a 43, followed by Grace Sndyer 44, Cate Jensen 44, Khloe Miller 48, Alli McEvoy 52, Gabby Fekete 56 and Naomi McKenney 56.
Hailey Brown was the low player for the Golden Eagles with a 48, including a birdie on her last hole.
