The Noblesville girls basketball team picked up its second Hoosier Crossroads Conference win of the season Saturday, winning at Avon 74-45.
The Class 4A No. 3 Millers dominated the first half, leading 23-6 after the first quarter and 47-17 at halftime. Ashlynn Shade led the Noblesville scoring with 22 points, and reached double-double status with 10 rebounds. Shade also made seven steals and dished out four assists.
Meredith Tippner was next in line with 16 points and eight rebounds. Kaitlyn Shoemaker added 10 points and had five steals. Reagan Wilson dished out five assists and made four steals, while Ava Shoemaker collected five rebounds. The Millers had 26 total steals as a team.
Noblesville is still unbeaten for the season at 7-0. The Millers go back on the road Wednesday to play county rival Hamilton Southeastern in another HCC contest.

‘Rocks pull away from Centerville (Ohio)
Westfield traveled to Brownsburg on Saturday to take on Centerville of Ohio in the Sneakers for Santa Shootout.
The Shamrocks pulled away from the Elks in the fourth quarter for a 60-51 victory. Westfield led 16-11 after the first quarter, but Centerville cut that advantage to 31-29 by halftime. The Elks were within 43-42 after three periods, but the ‘Rocks outscored Centerville 17-9 in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Alyssa Crockett scored 23 points, the first of three Westfield players in double figures. Crockett also had six rebounds and two blocked shots. Ellie Kelleher added 11 points and Olivia Robey scored 10 points and handed out four assists. Chesney Tebbe led the rebounds with nine.
The Shamrocks are 5-2 and play Thursday at Mount Vernon.

Golden Eagles fall to Mavs
Guerin Catholic dropped a Saturday afternoon game at McCutcheon 47-33.
The Golden Eagles held tough with the Mavericks in the first half. Guerin Catholic trailed McCutcheon 12-9 after the first quarter, but came back to tie things up at 18-18 by halftime. Kathryn Loso scored six points for the Golden Eagles during the second period. But the Mavs pulled away in the third quarter by outscoring GC 16-7, then extended their lead in the fourth quarter.
Loso finished the game with 17 points, while Koger scored nine.
Guerin Catholic is 4-3 and hosts Shortridge on Tuesday.

Snider hands Tigers first loss of the season
Fishers dropped its first game of the season Saturday, falling 62-57 at Fort Wayne Snider.
The Panthers led 15-7 after the first quarter and were up 35-24 at halftime. The Class 4A No. 5 Tigers still trailed 51-40 after three quarters, but got its pressure defense going in the fourth quarter and tied the game with a minute left. But Snider made free throws down the stretch to clinch the game.
Alycia Triplet and Joirdyn Smith each scored 12 points for Fishers, while Ava Carter added 11 points, including seven in the fourth quarter. Olivia Smith scored 10. Talia Harris was the leading rebounder with six and also had four steals. Triplet made three steals, while Smith had five assists and four rebounds.
The Tigers are 6-1 for the season and host Hamilton Heights on Wednesday.
