Featuring the songs and stories of Hoagy Carmichael and Cole Porter, Actors Theatre of Indiana (ATI) presents Hoagy & Cole: Indiana Music on My Mind, conceived and arranged by Darrin Murrell.

Using their own words and music, the show highlights how both men started with similar upbringings and ended with similar legacies but took wildly different paths to get there. One continually reached back to his Hoosier roots while the other put as much distance between him and his home state as possible. The show is warm, humorous, and nostalgic. It includes people from the two composers’ lives including their Indiana families as well as their famous friends, from Ethel Merman to James Whitcomb Riley, Red Skelton to Clark Gable and Carole Lombard.

The show features two pianos and more than 30 songs, including “Can’t Get Indiana Off My Mind,” “Let’s Misbehave,” “Up A Lazy River,” “Don’t Fence Me In,” “Georgia On My Mind,” “Heart And Soul,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “Anything Goes,” “The Nearness Of You,” “Night and Day,” and “Stardust.”

Join ATI for a night with Hoagy and Cole on Wednesday, July 22, at Feinstein’s at Hotel Carmichael. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Featuring Judy Fitzgerald, Don Farrell, Darrin Murrell, Julie Lyn Barber, Keith Potts as Cole Porter, and Terry Woods as Hoagy Carmichael. With Potts and Woods performing at dual pianos, the cast brings the music, stories, humor, and enduring legacy of these two legendary composers to life.
